Pre-Finals 1000 Yard Club - 8-Man/6-Man

Howells Clint Belina photo courtesy of Journal-Star CLASS D-1 Nobody has a chance to catch Belina. The multi-talented defending State Rushing Champ can surpass his '08 total (2,488) with a finals game of 174 yards. He'll win the 8-Man crown in all likelihood, but will need a huge 300+ effort to catch Randall of Blair… Continue

Pre-Finals 1000 Yard List - 11-Man

Blair's Ryan Randall Looks like Blair's Ryan Randall has the State Rushing Title lead by 346 yards over Howells' Clint Belina. At first thought I would say Randall has it wrapped up, but Belina exploded in last year's State Final, so is 347 yards out of the question? I would advise.......hold on. CLASS A This class could end up with a record 13 RB's… Continue

1977 and 1978's Top 10 Rushers

I present ‘77 and ‘78 today and can’t help but notice some of the schools dotting these top tens are no longer in existence. I had been so far removed from Rosalie that year, that I declared Craig Hass of Beemer State Rushing Champion. Lee Novak of Rosalie informed me that he had rushed for 1,668, I checked it out, apologized, slinked away wit… Continue

Top 10 Rushers in Nebraska - A Year by Year Look Back

Ken Baker-Genoa QB/LB "The Original 1000 Yard Man" A Look In The Rear View Mirror: I initiated the “Bobby Mills 1000 yard Club” in 1975, and I thought it would be a kick to list the Top 10 Rushers each year as the 35TH annual list approaches. The idea for this 1000 Yard Club was the brainchild of my late Father-In-Law Kenneth Bak… Continue

Anybody Believe The Blair Football Team Is For Real Now?

Blair's Football Logo Well folks, I kind of jumped on the band wagon a while back when I started watching film on this group of players and coaches. The entire focus seemed to be on a young Junior running back by the name of Ryan Randall……and why not. The young man accumulated 9 yards short of 2,100 yards rushing during the 9 game re… Continue

Shelby Freshman, Seth Hoffman in Elite Company Now

Hoffman, number 41 (2nd from right) wasn't yawning last Thursday night against Freeman He doesn’t look like a 15 year old when you are a linebacker preparing to put the stops on the 195 pound bulldozer powering toward you. Seth Hoffman of Shelby became only the 4th Freshman in history to crack the 1000 yard rushi… Continue

Antlers Capitalize on Kearney Turnovers

Thought I’d better check out to see how good that Elkhorn rushing offense was tonight and the perfect measuring stick seemed like the Kearney Bearcats. Coach Brandon Cool’s stingy rushing defense has given up an average of only around a 110 yards a game, but it was 2 critical turnovers in a short span that spelled doom for the ‘Cats on this beautiful football evening/turned cold and windy Friday night. The Antlers came out running with 230 bruiser Trevor Roach doing the damage on an 11 play 3:16… Continue

Nebraska High School Football 5000 YARD CAREER RUSHERS

Clint Belina-Howells Here is the list of 5000 Yard Men, and I use the term "Men" with great respect in reference to this elite group of runners.
