Howells runs over Axtell in D-1 state championship

Howells ran around, through and away from Axtell Thursday, winning the Class D-1 state football championship in a 46-21 rout. Howells piled up 364 rushing yards on the way to their seventh 8-man championship in its last seven years of 8-man football. Axtell started the season 0-2, but rallied to reach the D-1 championship game for the second time in the last four years.
